These Guys Broke the Guatemalan National Record for Releasing Blue Marlin.
Last November 4th, our good friend Ed Sigda traveled offshore aboard our boat Monkey Business. Captain Froilan and Miguel Cortez as a mate never imagined that they would break a National Record that day. Departure time was 7:00 am as usual, they began the journey out to the sea, the breeze hitting their face reminding that they are alive and they live for this! .. they started trolling at 8:30 am, observing the water and birds around, after an hour of spectacle watching the naughty Parlamas and fish that only came to say hello, the captain decided to venture a little further out. At approximately 45 miles the surprise of their life awaited them, it was a pale piece of tree, worn by the sun and the sea currents, they thought it was the perfect spot to fill the coolers with Mahi-Mahi, but fate had something different in store for them, two turns were enough to attract the attention of one of the fastest fish in the sea, THE GREAT BLUE MARLIN, The captain shouts: Left Rigger …….. and the fishing rod bends with such force that they thought it would break, and the action began, the ONE ON ONE fight, at which time you forget even your second name, but Ed Sigda is a professional fisherman with a lot of experience and strength, and although the Blue Marlin fought him, he brought it close to the Yacht and released it in less than 30 minutes, and this was the first Blue Marlin of approximately 250 lbs released that day, and so, one after another as if they were sailfish, that day they raised 15 beautiful specimens, of which 13 They took the bait but only managed to release 10, BREAKING THE NATIONAL RECORD FOR BLUE MARLIN RELEASE IN GUATEMALA 🇬🇹
